Man of the Match: Danny Musovski recorded his first RSL brace in the Claret-and-Cobalt’s 3-1 come-from-behind victory over Club León. The “Moose’s” first goal came in the 69th minute when a header from Chicho Arrango deflected off the goalkeeper and straight to Musovski for the easy finish. Moments later, the Nevada native ran onto Andrew Brody’s through ball before slotting home a right-footed shot into the bottom right corner.
Telling Stat: Danny Musovski recorded his first brace since 2020, spurring a 3-1 come-from-behind victory for the Claret-and-Cobalt. It’s also his fourth multi-goal game and second with an MLS club, notching two goals in a 3-1 LAFC win over Seattle, four goals in a 5-0 Reno win over Tacoma in 2019, and two goals in a 3-2 Reno loss to Fresno.
What You Missed: Real Salt Lake scored three goals in 12 minutes to secure a 3-1 come-from-behind victory over Liga MX side, Club León. León jumped to an early lead in the 8th minute when Iván Moreno jumped on a poor clearance from RSL defender Brayan Vera and rocketed the ball into the back of the net. The Claret-and-Cobalt equalized in the 69th minute when Danny Musovski headed home a deflection from the León goalkeeper. Moose added a second goal just two minutes later off a through ball from Andrew Brody that the Nevada native slotted into the bottom right corner. Designated Player Chicho Arango finished off the scoring tally in the 81st minute when another deflection from the León keeper fell to his feet, rocketing into the roof of the net.
What’s Next: Real Salt Lake will travel West to face LAFC in the Leagues Cup Round of 16 on Tuesday, August 8 at BMO Stadium. A victory at LAFC would most likely see RSL return home to host the Leagues Cup Quarterfinal on Saturday, August 12.
